Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always.
If Mary disobeyed God’s call, to be Jesus earth mum – would we have the Christmas holidays??
If Joseph disobeyed God’s advice, and left Mary, would Jesus have been the carpenter He grew up to be before starting on His mission?
If the shepherds ignored the angels’ singing, would the Christmas story of Jesus being borne and laying in a manger be told as it is today?
If the three wise men, had disregarded the special star, would we have known of the importance of bearing gifts? Of myrrh which would later be used at Jesus death as well?
Have you? Ever wondered these things? Oh I have – not so much in the past but this particular Christmas, I have pondered on those a lot. And the most important message I’m making out of it all is OBEDIENCE! Not just any, but obedience to God’s call. If these people had disobeyed God’s plan, what would our lives be without the Christmas story. Have you ever wondered? 🤔
As such, apart from joy, peace, love, hope and many other things that Christmas signifies, I pray that:
• The spirit of obedience prevails in our hearts this season, into 2022 and beyond.
• We all understand Christmas as the symbol of God’s forgiveness and goodwill to mankind – Jesus Christ – not because we deserved it but because of His grace and faithfulness.
So rather than wonder, let’s challenge ourselves to be more like Mary, Joseph, the shepherds and three wise men – to obey God’s call no matter the circumstances. To share the good news of Jesus Christ with others, especially those who are yet to experience and know of about Him. Yes, Jesus is what the world needs now more than ever.
However you or I choose to do that will be revealed to us accordingly but there is no better moment then now to obey God’s call – let’s not wait for the perfect moment, the right circumstances, when we have the money and so on. God’s call to you and I was made from the moment he formed us in our mother’s wombs.
Let’s pray for strength and courage so that you and I may be obedient to God’s call as we prepare to farewell 2021 and welcome 2022. Let’s pray that God’s will shall prevail in your/ our lives. God bless & keep us all safe always ❤🙏
