Before the month of love – that is February – ends, I would like to reflect on the subject of love.

Love has been commercialised so much that we can’t talk about it without thinking of or actually buying gifts for loved ones. I feel that in this day and age, the simple joys of being in love or being loved by another are not so anymore.
To the point where if you don’t buy a gift for a loved one, it might appear you don’t love them enough or anymore. And you end up with a guilty conscience. So much so that it leads to disastrous relationships, bitterness, hate, envy – everything that’s opposite to what having loving relationships or being in love should be. These are my humble opinions and observations. Others may beg to differ.
All that aside, and more importantly, I’d like to share with you about God’s love: the purest form of love that we all need in our lives ❤️🙏. It’s from a 23-day devotional by Rick Warren titled “What on earth am I here for (A purpose driven life)”!
The thing is, I had chosen ‘Love’ to be the topic for this week (wk 8 of 2024): and as I was contemplating and praying about what to write, I came upon the devotional for day 23 titled “God loves you so much”.
Amen! God loves you and I so much – please read on and I hope you are blessed by this devotional as it was for me!
God Loves You This Much
Rick Warren! What on earth am I here for? A 23-day devotional 🙏
The Bible says God is love. It doesn’t say God has love; it says God is love. Love is his nature. God is love.
God created the entire universe. He created this planet; he created the human race; then, he created you because he loves you.
God created you as an object of his love. He made you so he could love you and so you could love him. God’s love for you is the reason your heart is beating right now; it’s the reason you’re breathing.
God’s good news is that he loves you on your good days as much as he loves you on your bad days. He loves you when you can feel his love, and he loves you when you can’t seem to feel his love. He loves you whether or not you think you deserve his love.
There is nothing you can do that will make God stop loving you. You could try, but you simply can’t do it, because his love for you is based on his character and not on anything you do or say or feel.
God loves you so much that he sent his only Son, Jesus, into this world, “so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16 NLT, second edition).
Jesus stretched his arms out as wide as the cross, saying, “I love you this much! I love you so much it hurts. I love you so much I’ll die for you so that I won’t have to live without you.”
God’s love surpasses all human knowledge, and it is difficult for any of us to grasp the width and length and height and depth of his love for each one of us (Ephesians 3:17-19).
Ephesians 3:17-19 NKJV
[17] that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, [18] may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— [19] to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
What an amazing and loving God we serve ❤️ To Him be the glory always, Amen 🙏
John 3:16 NKJV
[16] For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
