Service – what does it mean? From Oxford dictionaries, as a noun, it means
the action of helping or doing work for someone.

Similar words include but not limited to: assistance, favour, aid, good turn, etc.
The Bible has many verses about service or to serve: below are some of my favorites.
Psalms 100:2 NKJV
[2] Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.
Colossians 3:23-24 NKJV
[23] And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, [24] knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
The central theme from the Bible is that we are to serve God and others wholeheartedly. That no matter where we are in life, whether it’s at home, school, work etc – our service must be honest and done, as if we were doing it for God and not man.
There’s a song I learnt that I love still from my high school days, titled “Service”: the lyrics sum up everything that the Bible teaches about serving God and others 🙏

It’s so easy to write about and say these things. In this day and age where everything is about self gratification, serving God & others seems like a big task. Yes, it’s quite difficult, and we cannot do that on our own. We pray and ask God to help us in living purpose driven lives, serving Him and others with our heart, mind & soul ❤️🙏
Joshua 24:15 NKJV
[15] And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
