A simple search for ‘gratitude’ in your search engine of choice, no doubt, will return a plethora of information such as definitions, synonyms, explanations, examples, and many more. It’s almost like an infodemic on the word itself, as I’m sure is the case for every other word in many other languages that are spoken all over the world.

Ephesians 5:19-20 NIV
[19] speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, [20] always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Here’s a definition sourced via Google: as a noun, gratitude is defined as:
the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness
“she expressed her gratitude to the committee for their support”
– Oxford languages
And then there are thousands of quotes, phrases, verses, expressions of, and about gratitude on the internet! The verse I’ve shared above is from a book in the Bible: called “Ephesians.”
Below are some quotes which resonated with me;
“Gratitude turns what we have into enough.”
– Author Unknown
“Everything we do should be a result of our gratitude for what God has done for us.”
– Lauryn Hill
“Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer. And let faith be the bridge you build to overcome evil and welcome good.
– Maya Angelou
I believe gratitude stems from contentment, and when we’re content, we’re more likely to appreciate what we have and share our blessings with others, creating a beautiful cycle of kindness and generosity.
While faith lifts our gaze to hope for the unseen, gratitude anchors us in the present, helping us recognize and cherish the blessings we’ve already received, acknowledging them as divine gifts.
How can we expect to receive more from God when we fail to appreciate and acknowledge His blessings in our lives? How can our faith flourish if we harbour ungrateful hearts, minds, and souls? As God is merciful and gracious, so too must we cultivate gratitude and generosity, recognizing His goodness and reflecting His character in our own lives.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV
[18] give thanks in all
circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Thank You, God, that even when we are ungrateful and forget to share Your love with those around us, whether in our words or action, You still love us. In Jesus name, Amen!
Psalms 107:1 NIV
[1] Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
To God be the glory always 🙏❤️
