Faithfulness 🙏 2024 – Week 30 & 31

The past two weeks have been a whirlwind of activity, and I’ve found myself swept up in the chaos of everyday life. However, I’ve been reflecting on a topic I shared earlier this year – the fruits of the Spirit, as described by Paul in Galatians 5:22-23.

One of the fruits that resonates with me is faithfulness, a virtue that reminds us to stay grounded and committed to our values amidst life’s turbulence.

During our recent family Zoom devotion, we were reminded of the inspiring examples of Abraham, Jacob, and Joseph from the Old Testament.

Despite facing numerous challenges and trials, these three men demonstrated unwavering faithfulness to God, and in turn, God showered them with immense blessings and favour. Their stories serve as powerful reminders of the rewards of trust, perseverance, and devotion to our faith.

Abraham, the father of faith, is an astonishing example of devotion. It’s mind-boggling to think that his legacy would reach across millennia and miles, inspiring someone like me to reflect on his story and the God of Israel.

Then there’s Jacob, who, despite his own flaws and mistakes – like deceiving his brother Esau and being deceived by his uncle – went on to wrestle with God at Bethel.

And Joseph, who faced unimaginable trials from being sold into slavery by his brothers to false accusations of rape. Yet, through it all, his faith in God remained unwavering. His story testifies to the power of unshakeable trust and conviction, of faithfulness, even in the darkest of times.

The stories of Abraham, Jacob, and Joseph in the book of Genesis continue to inspire us with their examples of faithfulness to God. Despite the passage of time, their legacies remind us of God’s unwavering faithfulness and the principle that we reap what we sow (Galatians 6:7-8).

Luke 6:43-45 NIV

[43]  “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. [44] Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. [45] A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

As Luke 6:43-45 reminds us, the fruit of our lives reflects the condition of our hearts. In a world that seeks to distract us from God, my prayer is that we remain steadfast in our faith, trusting in God’s goodness and love, which endures forever 🙏❤️

Let us remain faithful to God, unwavering in our commitment to Him, no matter what challenges we face.

Psalms 100:4-5 NIV‬
[4] Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. [5] For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

To God be the glory always 🙏
