Memory verses πŸ“–πŸ™ Pt 2 Week 17 – 2025

My daughters and I have reached week #18 of “A Year In The Bible With Daily Grace” on our mobile Bible Apps. I’m sharing memory verses for weeks 9-16, following the 8 I shared earlier.

May these verses bring blessings and inspiration, just as they have for me. I pray for God’s abundant grace to overflow in your lives and loved ones as we enter the 2nd third of 2025 πŸ™.

Week 9

Mark 15:39 NIV

And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died, he said, β€œSurely this man was the Son of God!”

This verse speaks deeply to me. The centurion’s acknowledgment of Jesus as the Son of God after witnessing the crucifixion highlights God’s immense sacrifice and sovereignty. This is a humbling reminder that God is God & we are not. The fact that He willingly forsake His only Son, who took on human form to endure unimaginable pain for our salvation, is a testament to His boundless love.

Every blessing in our lives is a gift from God, & it’s essential we acknowledge & revere Him for who He is – our omnipotent, loving Creator. Our praise & worship should stem from recognizing His divine nature, and not solely because of His blessings or interventions in our lives. Let’s remain vigilant or in motu (my mother tongue), we say, “baita gima.” Making sure not to let the enemy of truth stop us from seeing & honouring God’s presence in our lives πŸ™β€οΈ

Week 10

Luke 6:35 NIV

[35] But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, this truth needs to be said again and again: that God is God. We are not. His mercy and grace are poured out on all people, believers and non-believers alike.

Gracious and merciful God, thank you for loving us even when we’re ungracious and unfaithful to your word. You sent your Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sin and shame. Thank you Jesus for dying on our behalf and defeating Satan and all His evil plans. Thank you Holy Spirit for being our companion and guide β€οΈπŸ™ in Jesus name, Amen

Week 11

Luke 11:13 NIV

If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

Re-reading this verse made me realise that we must first ask for the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name, and everything else will fall in line.

Thank You, God, for granting us access back to Your Grace & Bountiful Mercy, through Jesus Christ. Thank You for fellowship with the Holy Spirit and for blessing us daily with new life & fresh opportunities to go and live out your purpose. Amen πŸ™

Week 12

Luke 12:32 NIV
β€œDo not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.

Little flock! Afraid! Pleased Father! Gift of the Kingdom!

This verse reminds me that as a child of God, I’m part of a “little flock” that’s been graciously gifted the kingdom. As I navigate this broken world, I’m aware of my own fears and weaknesses. Yet, I’m encouraged knowing that God’s pleasure rests in Jesus, the perfect sacrifice for our imperfections. This promise gives me hope beyond what I can see and helps me persevere in faith. Faith in God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit, our companion β€οΈπŸ™

Week 13

Luke 21:33 NIV

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Amen πŸ™. This verse echoes John 1:1, reminding us that everything, including humanity, is created through God’s Word, Jesus Christ. While our time on earth is temporary, God’s Word remains eternal and unchanging. Through Him alone, we can experience eternal life ❀️

Week 14

Luke 24:26 NIV

Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?”

One of my daughters aptly summarized it: “first suffering, then eternal life.” As believers, we often try to avoid suffering, forgetting that our Saviour endured immense suffering for our sake. When faced with challenges, we tend to complain and give up easily. This serves as a timely reminder for us to reframe our perspective.

Week 15

John 3:35 NIV

The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands.

The Father’s love for the Son is profound, and He has entrusted everything to Him. This powerful truth reminds me of Jesus’ lordship and authority over all things. Even before the cross, Jesus was committed to fulfilling God’s plan, demonstrating His humility and obedience. As I reflect on Palm Sunday and Holy Week, I’m reminded of my own purpose and the importance of following Jesus’ example. Despite knowing God’s love for me, I often fall short and make excuses. Thank you, God, for reminding me to take up my cross ✝️ and follow Jesus with humility πŸ™

Week 16

John 10:10 NIV

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.

Thieves strike suddenly, taking advantage of unexpected moments. They’ll take what’s valuable and try to avoid getting caught. Jesus warns us that Satan operates like this, but we don’t have to fear. We can trust in Jesus, who defeated Satan through His death and resurrection. By having faith in Christ, we are secure πŸ™β€οΈ

To God be the glory always πŸ™
