Favorite bible verses πŸ™Œ! Week 35 – 2025

Our parents’ approaches to life were vastly different – Dad was tough and disciplinary, while Mum was gentle and caring. Night and day, that’s what they were – he was quick-tempered and firm, while she was nurturing and soft.

Our dad’s favorite bible verse was:

Ephesians 4:26-27 KJV
[26] Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: [27] neither give place to the devil.

We, his children often wondered why he cherished a verse about managing anger, but as we look back, it makes sense now – it was a reminder to rein in his emotions, to seek self-control and spiritual guidance.

In contrast, our mother’s chosen verse reflected her gentle and nurturing spirit, a guiding principle that anchored her entire life.

Psalms 133:1 NKJV

[1] Behold, how good and how pleasant it  is For brethren to dwell together in unity!

Our mum’s heart overflowed with love and compassion. She cared for so many through her ministry and family life, demonstrating what it means to live out a verse that emphasises love and unity. Her impact on our lives and those around her is a lasting testament to her selfless devotion ❀️

Choosing a memory verse is a personal journey, and I think there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. As for me, I’m not sure I have a single ‘go-to’ verse, but these verses below are a few that have really resonated with me lately.

I Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV

[16] Rejoice always, [17] pray without ceasing, [18] in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

So what’s your memory or go-to verse(s)? Feel free to share below in the comments.
