White walls & waiting 😷 Week 46 – 2025

🔙 Nov’2024, the long corridors

I wrote this a year ago (week 46, 2024) while sitting in the day-surgery lounge — white walls, grey floors, blue couches, and the faintest hints of colour scattered about. The stillness felt weighty, almost sombre, and in that heaviness these words surfaced. A small poem of gratitude and praise, born in a place that felt anything but uplifting — a reminder that grateful hearts 💕 can rise above dreary spaces, and that God is ever near 🙏

🔙 Nov’2024, blue 🛋

White walls, long corridors, blue lounges —
how sterile the calm of a hospital feels.
A waiting room of sighs and silence,
aching for colour, for life, for something real.

We are the unwell, and we know it —
we don’t need these walls to echo our gloom.
No wonder hearts grow heavy here,
where hope and fear share the same room.

Then comes the waiting.
You wait for your name, your turn, your time.
You wait on an empty stomach,
listening to its protests break the quiet rhyme.

So bring a book — or better still,
a prayer, a pen, a thought to still
the anxious hum inside your chest,
the hunger, the restlessness, the test.

And as I sit here counting tiles,
I notice smiles — kind and small.
Reception’s warmth, a nurse’s care,
a doctor’s calm — they soften it all.

For in these walls so pale, so bare,
it’s people who bring colour there.
God bless their hearts, their gentle hands,
their homes, their work — all that He plans.

Isaiah 54:17 NIV

[17] no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord.

Thank You, Almighty Father, for Your constant protection and Your healing mercies. Thank You for Your limitless grace, poured out generously over every person — believer and unbeliever alike. In Jesus’ name, Amen 🙏

Psalms 118:4-6 NKJV

[4] Let those who fear the Lord now say, “His mercy endures forever.” [5] I called on the Lord in distress; The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. [6] The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

To God be the glory always 🙏❤️
