you may not know it,
your blooming may be exactly what someone needs at that very point in time πΉβ€
I lost my dad 14 years ago and my mum most recently. Since my father’s death, I’ve realised that grief never goes away, that it is part of my whole being. It is part of my existence – and like everything else in life, l must learn to live with and through it π
I wrote this poem last week, as I reflected on mum’s demise and everything else that’s happening around not just locally but globally as well!

No matter how strong one claims to be – either physically, mentally and emotionally, grief as I know it, is one of life’s meanest blows. Unfortunately I cannot wish it away for others or pray they don’t ever experience it, because, grief is part of each and every one of us.
I can only pray that God bless and comfort each and everyone of us as we grief. And that God will give us the strength to comfort others during their time of loss and pain.
I know & understand now that mum (and dad too) was dealt this card, at a very young & tender age. Mum chose a life of prayer and dedicated service to God and others – especially those who needed a mother’s love the most – to handle grief all the days of her well lived life β€ This one is called “Grief as I know it”
Grief overpowers you
Grips at your heart
And squeezes so hard
You feel like you're falling
Falling into a deep chasm
A blackhole, with no return
The hours turn into days
Days into months
Months into years
You realise
It's never been a chasm
The pain will never leave you
The emptiness
The heartache
They are part of you
It's God's creation
Part of our whole existence
Life and death
We celebrate life
We mourn death
It's the circle of life
So we must learn
To love and to let go
And live on with God's grace

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
