What’s in a date!

The Queen’s death and funeral is historical: everything else may pale into insignificance, so to speak. However, for my family & I, today 19.09.2022 is signifcant and marks yet another milestone or two for us.

I’m writing this from a place of gratitude and in awe of divine intervention- the hand of God in our daily lives. On 19.09.2002, I rejoined ChevronTexaco PNG (CTPL) from Bank South Pacific (formerly PNGBC). Six months later, Santos, (previously Oil Search) took over operatorship of the oilfields from CTPL. That was 20 years ago and the rest as they say, is history. It is a story for another day.

Fast forward to today, 19.09.2022 – my youngest child, VK graduated 🎓 from high school! So yes what’s in a date – is seeing God’s hand at play, allowing yet another key milestone to happen on a significant date in our lives, my 20th work anniversary with Oil Search, now Santos.

I say yet another because, on December 17, 2021, when our time with Oil Search officially ceased and Santos commenced, was also the day my eldest daughter graduated with her 1st degree from Western Sydney University. Thank God for aligning the dates ❤️ and if those aren’t divine interventions, I don’t know what is 🙏.

I recall when the merger deal was announced in September last year, I was sad as I thought that I wouldn’t be able to reach the 20 years mark. If you follow my blog, you’ll know that I wrote one expressing my disappointment 😁

I’m forever grateful to God for our bosses who have let this milestone come true. And also for my son’s school who chose this date for the class of 2022 – Yr 12 graduation.

As a working mum, I am truly appreciative of my family’s support, my husband Iamo & our three older children Ali, Titi and Iamo Jnr & his partner Rhiannon – for the sacrifices they made to take care of and be there always for VK while I worked. His and my achievements are a testament of your support & I thank God always for you all ❤️🙏

Congratulations VK and all your mates, the class of 2022 from Westfield Sports High School 🎊👏. Today marks the end of a chapter in your lives – give yourselves a pat on the back, enjoy and celebrate today whole heartedly. All the best for the upcoming HSC exams, I pray for God’s protection, guidance and wisdom upon your lives as you navigate through the last few weeks and months of high school. I thank God for all the teachers, mentors, and friends who have helped VK throughout the past 12 years of schooling.

Well done, natugu 🙏❤️

Proverbs 3:1‭-‬4 NKJV
My son, do not forget my law,
But let your heart keep my commands;
For length of days and long life
And peace they will add to you.
Let not mercy and truth forsake you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart,
And so find favor and high esteem
In the sight of God and man.
