2026, Week 16 – Steadfast Faith 🙌

Holding Fast to God’s Promise of Eternal Life Through Christ Alone ✝️

Playing catch-up on my weekly blogging — this one’s for last week, #16 of 2026. As of today (20 April), we’re 110 days into the year… which leaves 255 days, or a neat 36 & a bit weeks, to go.

But hey — not like I’m counting or anything 😄

I have been following our church’s daily reading plan for April and the following is my own reflections from Daniel chapter 8 and Psalms 112.

Bible reading 📖

Daniel 8:27 NIV

[27] I, Daniel, was worn out. I lay exhausted for several days. Then I got up and went about the king’s business. I was appalled by the vision; it was beyond understanding.

Reflections 🙌

Reading Daniel chapter 8 alongside Psalm chapter 112 was deeply grounding.

In Daniel 8, we are drawn into the prophet’s second vision, received three years into King Belshazzar’s reign—a vision filled with powerful imagery of a ram and a horned goat.

What stands out is that this revelation is recorded after the events of chapter 5, after Belshazzar’s fall. It reminds us that Daniel did not rush to speak, but revealed these visions in God’s timing, even though they pointed to events already unfolding in the ancient world.

Daniel receives a vision so overwhelming that it leaves him exhausted—yet not shaken.

Despite the weight of what was revealed, he remained faithful, continuing to serve God through changing kingdoms, uncertain times, and life in exile. His circumstances did not move him, because his faith was anchored in something greater.

Psalm 112 echoes this same truth: the righteous are not shaken. Their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. They do not fear bad news, because their confidence is not in what they see—but in who God is.

Psalms 112:1-4 NIV

[1] Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands. [2] Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. [3] Wealth and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures forever. [4] Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.

And yet today, when we are faced with uncertainty or surrounded by evil, how quickly do we begin to question God? How often do we focus on temporary struggles and seek temporary solutions, forgetting the eternal promise we have through Christ?

Daniel’s life reminds us that even when we don’t understand, we are called to trust. Even when we feel overwhelmed, we are called to remain. The trials we face are real—but they are not greater than the God we serve.

God does not forget His people. His promises still stand. And through Christ, we are given the assurance of eternal life—something no trial, no fear, and no circumstance can take away.

May we be people who are unshaken.

May our hearts remain steadfast.

And may we hold fast to the One who holds all things together. 🙏✝️

Prayer 🙏

Lord, save us!
Lord, grant us success!

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. From the house of the Lord we bless you.

The Lord is God,
and he has made his light shine on us. With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession up to the horns of the altar.

You are our God, and we will praise you; you are our God, and we will exalt you.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever. Amen 🙏

Psalms 118: 25-29 NIV

To God be the glory always 🙏 ❤️
