Yesterday? Today? Or Tomorrow?
Are you someone who lives in the past, always looking back at yesterday? Or are you more focused on tomorrow, always thinking ahead and planning for what’s next? Or perhaps you’re someone who prefers to live in the moment, embracing today as it comes?

Me? Well, I used to be a tomorrow person. I was always planning ahead, trying to make sure things went my way. And if they didn’t? Well, it was my way or the highway for anyone or anything that dared to get in the way of my plans. 😂 Control freak much?! I know, right? 🤷🏾♀️
Anyway, all that aside – read on for why today is most important!
Bible reading 📖
Hebrews 3:12–13 (NIV)
[12] See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.[13] But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
Reflections 🙌
These verses remind us of the importance of TODAY.❤️🙏
Yesterday is gone. It was once ours, but we can never get it back.
Tomorrow is not yet ours; it belongs to God, who holds our future in His hands.
Yet, how often do we become so caught up in yesterday’s regrets, what could have been, or what we wish we had done differently that we miss the blessings God has placed before us today? And in worrying about tomorrow, we lose sight of the hope and purpose He has for our future.
Yes, our past shapes us – but we must put it behind us, and our future motivates us – but it all rests on God’s hands. Today is where we put our faith into action, walk in obedience, and live out His purpose for our lives. It is an opportunity to learn from our past without being held captive by it, and to look towards the future without being consumed by its uncertainties. Today is the journey between where we have been and where God is leading us.
Today is a precious gift from God. Let’s make the most of it by honouring His name, sharing His love and grace with those around us, and encouraging one another in faith.
As Hebrews 3:13 reminds us, let’s encourage one another daily so that none of us becomes hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. Let’s reach out to hearts that may be growing hardened towards God, reminding them of His truth and love while TODAY is still ours.
Tread carefully today, always seeking God’s wisdom in our decisions, His guidance in our steps, and His presence in everything we set out to do. May we not become so consumed by yesterday’s regrets or tomorrow’s uncertainties that we fail to recognise what God is doing in our lives right now.
Yesterday is a lesson, tomorrow is in God’s hands, but today is an opportunity to walk faithfully with Him.
May we make the most of this precious gift. ❤️🙏

To God be the glory always 🙏
Prayer 🙏
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the lessons of yesterday, the blessings of today, and the hope we have for tomorrow.
We place our hopes, dreams, and plans for the future into Your loving hands, trusting that Your plans for us are good.
Lord, as we walk through each day, may Your Holy Spirit guide our steps, lead our hearts, and help us to live according to Your will. Give us wisdom to make the right choices, faith to trust You through every season, and grateful hearts to recognise Your goodness in all things.
May our lives bring glory to Your name, today and always. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray.
Amen. 🙏❤️
