2026, Week 22 – Pain πŸ˜’

God is in your story, your pain is not wasted πŸ™

For week 22, I am sharing this beautiful and encouraging devotional, including the pictures, by Christine Caine. It speaks to all of us because – whether you believe in God or not – we all experience pain.

As you read it, may the grace of God the Father, the love of His Son, Jesus and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you and your loved ones, always πŸ™

Bible reading πŸ“–

Genesis 45:7-8 NIV

[7] But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance. [8] β€œSo then, it was not you who sent me here, but God. He made me father to Pharaoh, lord of his entire household and ruler of all Egypt.

Reflections πŸ™Œ

Your hardest chapter is not your whole story. God has not forgotten you, and He has not forgotten your story.

Joseph’s life is proof of that. Sold into slavery by his own brothers, falsely accused, and forgotten in prison, and yet through all of it, the Bible simply says in Genesis 39, “But the Lord was with Joseph.”

What strikes me most about Joseph’s story is what isn’t recorded. There are no bitter prayers demanding God explain Himself, no giving up on his calling because the process was too hard. Just faithfulness, day after grinding day, in circumstances that would have shattered most of us. And in the end, what his brothers meant for evil, God used for extraordinary good.

Joseph stood before the very brothers who betrayed him and said, not out of naivety but out of hard-won faith, “It was not you who sent me here, but God.” That is the witness of a man who discovered that God is present in the darkest of places.

The same is true for you. The season you’re in right now, however painful, confusing, or unjust, is not the end of your story. He is weaving redemption through threads you never would have chosen, and your pain is not wasted. 🀍

Prayer πŸ™

Merciful and loving God, thank You for the promise of redemption and salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. As Psalm 16:2 reminds us, β€œApart from You I have no good thing.”

Grant us wisdom not to take our salvation for granted, but to live like Joseph, in a way that glorifies Your name and honors Jesus’ sacrifice every day of our lives.

We are sinners and unworthy to stand in Your presence, yet we ask for Your mercy and forgivenessβ€”for our thoughts, words, actions, and for the things we have failed to do or say. Forgive those who have sinned against us, and give us hearts that are sincere, compassionate, and kind, so we too may extend Your grace and forgiveness to others, especially those who have wronged us and those who do not yet know You.

We ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen πŸ™

To God be the glory always πŸ™
